I found this amazing book at a thrift shop and it is in MINT condition. No one ever punched out a card, or cut a page. It doesn't have publisher info but it is called a Christmas Playbook.

Funday Book
I am so head over heels with this book I found! Its called Funday Book by Frances W. Keene. I couldn't find a publishing date, but it does say it is a Sea Horse Fun Book on the back. It is in perfect condition. No marks, and none of the activites have been done.
I might scan some so I can have them printed on heavy cardstock and do some of the scissor cut outs (I'll share those when I scan them) I am so in love with the wishbone kids who appear several times through out the book. The clowns are pretty amazing too.
Now I want to find all the Sea Horse Fun Books! The back lists some gems like Hobby Funbook, Fun Around The World, and the Toy Fun Book.

Mother Goose
Just a quick break from Thanksgiving posts to share a beautiful book that I found at the thrift shop. Actually on this trip I found about five books! They had a stack of vintage children's books on a shelf behind the counter (they always do this when they think something is old an valuable, it's kind of annoying haha) I asked if I could see them and how much they were. They had them priced around $2.99 a book (kid's books are normally .25 or fill a bag for $2.00) But of course $2.99 is still a steal. Tom and I picked out our favorites including this beautiful big hardback edition of Mother Goose.
Mother Goose
Illustrators Fred D. Lohman and Ethel Hays
published by The Saalfied Company 1941
It looks like Ethel Hays did all the color illustrations which are so damn fabulous! There are also small black and white illos through out the book, and while these are great too---those color full page images are just wonderful!

More Pack-O-Fun
Pack-O-Fun are my go to crafty books for Thanksgiving because I do not have a lot of kid's story books on Thanksgiving (a few but not many)

Thanksgiving is coming!
I thought I'd share some images from my Pack Of Fun collection. I know you will all need some time to pick out the most perfect cabbage for your centerpiece ;)

Oh Halloween!
Witches, Pumpkins, and Grinning Ghosts:The Story Of Halloween Symbols by Edna Barth
Published in 1972 by Clarion
I love our local used bookshops for kid's Halloween books. One shop we go to has all the holiday books organized in their own section so it makes it really easy to find them.

Jack-O'-Lantern
One of my most favorite times of year is coming up! We've been working on decorations here at home, so I decided to dig out all the Hallowee/Fall books. This one has an awesome cover..all orange with a black jack-o-lantern. It was from Booksavers so it's actually a discarded library book (so a little dirty).

Paper Dolls
Just a heads up that I blogged about these free printable Betsy McCall paper dolls today over on my other blog My Paper Crane.
Richard Scarry
Richard Scarry's Look & Learn Library-I found this amazing 4 volume set at a thrift shop a few years ago. It was $7 or something just as ridiculously cheap. Published in 1971 by Golden Press NY.
The set contains a hard cardboard slipcover that looks like an amazing brick apartment building. Inside 4 hardcover books absolutely filled to the brim with Richard Scarry goodness. He has always been one of my favorites. It was an almost impossible task to select just a few pages for photographing. I'll be coming back to these books for later posts for sure!
